Why plastic bins are the better choice
A side-by-side look at what you get when you rent bins vs. buy boxes.
Boxed Moves Bins
The modern standard
- No assembly or taping required. Just snap the lid shut.
- Heavy-duty and water-resistant to help protect your belongings.
- Uniform bins stack securely up to five high.
- Delivered to your door, picked up when you're done.
- Custom fit moving dolly included with every rental.
- Zero waste to break down or throw away after your move.
Cardboard Boxes
The old way
- Requires buying and using rolls of messy packing tape.
- Vulnerable to rain, humidity, pests, and crushing.
- Irregular sizes make stacking in a truck unstable and risky.
- You have to drive to the store, buy them, and haul them home.
- Heavy lifting required; no specialized rolling equipment included.
- Leaves you with a mountain of boxes to break down and recycle.
Convenience & Time Savings
Building cardboard boxes takes time. Taping the bottoms, hoping they hold, and then cutting them all open and breaking them down after you unpack is exhausting.
Our bins arrive pre-assembled and clean. You just pack your items, snap the interlocking lids shut, and you're done. A custom-fit dolly is included with every rental, so you can roll stacks of packed bins straight to the door instead of carrying boxes one by one.
Unmatched Durability
Cardboard gets soggy in the rain, sags under humidity, and crushes under weight. If you're moving during a classic Carolina summer storm, cardboard is a liability.
Our heavy-duty plastic bins are water-resistant and built to hold their shape under normal moving loads. Secure lids and rigid sides offer better protection from moisture, dust, and impact than ordinary cardboard.
Perfect Stackability
Loading a moving truck with cardboard boxes is like playing a high-stakes game of Tetris. Irregular sizes lead to uneven stacks, which leads to shifting and damaged goods during the drive.
Boxed Moves bins are uniform in size. Their matching lids and bases help them stack securely up to five high, making it easier to use truck space efficiently and reduce shifting during the move.
The True Cost
Cardboard costs can grow once you add packing tape, dispensers, and specialty boxes. Boxed Moves packages bundle reusable bins with free delivery and pickup, a dolly, packing paper, and moving bags, so you can compare one clear package price against your full cardboard shopping list.
Sustainability
Cardboard boxes can leave a large pile to flatten, store, recycle, or discard. Our bins are cleaned, sanitized, and reused between rentals, helping you avoid buying a fresh set of disposable boxes for your move.
